Various patented technical solutions guarantee our leading role as a supplier of very low-inertia and highly utilized asynchronous machines. In cooperation with colleges and universities, development is constantly being driven forward and new trends are being set.
We manufacture with state-of-the-art technology and craftsmanship. Thanks to our versatile and modern machinery, we achieve a vertical range of manufacture that is rarely offered by medium-sized companies today.
While at the Homberg (Efze) site we focus on the design and construction of customer-specific special motors for various industrial sectors, highly utilized electrical machines are developed in Dresden for test benches in the automotive industry, among other things.
In our test field, measurements according to VDE standard and special measurements according to customer requirements are possible. For load measurements on the mains or frequency converters, 6 load machines with different characteristic curves are available.
The company AKH – Antriebstechnik KATT Hessen GmbH was founded in 2002 by renaming the KATT-MOTOREN-FABRIK, founded in 1924, and the development company AKS.
The headquarters of the AKH is located in Homberg (Efze) in northern Hesse. There is another development office in Dresden.
Since November 2014, AKH has been part of the Brazilian WEG Group, one of the leading international manufacturers of electric motors.
Our design offices develop special solutions for a wide variety of applications. These special engines are produced in Homberg (Efze) and sold worldwide.
1999 Market launch of a torque-ventilated, very
low-inertia asynchronous machine series with the highest power
density. This is achieved by a new patented ventilation system.
2007 Completion of the first water-cooled
asynchronous machine with additional fans, specially developed for
testing large NkW combustion engines. Power density: 800kW at axle
height 355.
2009 Development of a self-ventilated, highly
efficient motor series AH250 to AH400 with special bearings for
absorbing high axial and radial forces and high maximum speeds
(application in process pumps).
2010 Delivery of the first test bench machine for
e-mobility test tasks (430Nm, power 180kW up to a max. speed of
16,000 rpm)
2011 Delivery of a test bench motor with a new
winding design in AH 450 with 1MW and max. 8,500rpm.
2012 Market launch of a low-mass asynchronous
machine series with very high power density and patented water
cooling.
2017 Market launch of high-speed synchronous
machines for automotive testing technology.
